It was an unambiguous fight against the darkness of dictatorship in our nation’s history. You are the epitome of struggle, sacrifice, courage, and solidarity, all the qualities so lacking in Gambia at that time. You travel from one continent to Gambia, you move the keyboard to a reality on the ground and decoded a dictator. You shown us that distance don’t matter but values. You had shown us that Gambia has sons such as you people, willing to sacrifice everything in the struggle for the freedom of the Gambia. There aren’t many that gave rise to such heroes.
Your fought for the nation and you fought for others. It’s hard to think of loftier or more courageous conduct. If there is a reason for Gambian pride, it is you who crossed the lines in Gambia, not falling in line with position taken by many and the biggest collaborator with the brutal Jammeh regime. We will continue to tell your stories because we owe it to you, to the Gambia, generations to come and to history.
We salute you because you belong to a special generation of people who chose a life of struggle over one of convenience, unafraid of the brutality of dictator of our time.
Now you can rest in peace comrades because TRRC report has vindicated you.
The wounded and living Comrades, TRRC has vindicated you!!
We salute and celebrate you!!
