Ahmad Gitteh, a member of the National People’s Party, said he is pleased to see Hon. Lawyer Ousainou Darboe declare his candidacy for the 2026 presidential election under the UDP ticket. He stated, “Hon. Darboe is by far the NPP’s easiest candidate to defeat from a possible lineup of UDP flagbearers.”
As the National People’s Party continued to prepare for their second term in office, many believe they will find it a lesser challenge defeating Darboe in the polls than anyone else.
UDP, under the leadership of Ousainou Darboe, 2026 will mark 30 years of contesting elections and Darboe as their flagbearer. The old man is prepared to lockhorn with anyone who dares to challenge him as UDP flagbearer.
